Philadelphia Man Orders Don Julio Drink At Applebee’s. Then He Sees The Glass It Comes In

A Philadelphia man went to Applebee’s to taste-test the chain’s two summer margaritas, which both contain Don Julio. He was pleasantly surprised by the cup they came in—and he got to take the cup home with him.

TikToker Chris(@chrisbanddz) tried the Belly Floppin’ Melon Margarita and the Sunny Sipper Margarita—both part of Applebee’s “Poolio” drinks line—in a video with more than 324,000 views.

The drinks are $14 and contain Don Julio but do have some differences.

Sunny Sipper Margarita:

  • Reposado tequila
  • Coconut rum
  • Blue curaçao
  • Pineapple juice
  • Lime

The Belly Floppin’ Melon Margarita:

  • Reposado tequila
  • Vodka
  • Triple sec
  • Lime

Chris’ review? The drinks could use a bit more balance, but because they have Don Julio in them, Chris believes they are worthy of a second, third, and fourth taste.

Chris said that the Sunny Sipper Margarita tasted like a Blue Hawaiian drink, while the Floppin’ Melon Margarita had a regular watermelon flavor. “ I’ma give it a seven out of 10 just because they sweet as f—, but it’s Don nonetheless, so go get y’all Don. Pull up at Applebee’s,” he says.

What Is The ‘Poolio’?

The “Poolio” drinks also come with a collectible cup that’s pool-shaped.

Applebee’s announced the return of the Poolio drinks—which was first introduced in 2024—alongside three “all-you-can-eat” options.

The Poolio has attracted a significant amount of attention online.

TikToker @motionuniv23 posted his own video about the Poolio drink. “Go get that Poolio from Applebees,” he encouraged. His video has since garnered more than 336,000 views, and commenters chimed in, saying that they want to go to Applebee’s to get the Poolio so they can act “a foolio.”

Some commenters on both videos mentioned that the drinks are also a little weak.

“I feel like they drinks aren’t strong enough at all or maybe I’m an alcoholic,” one commenter said.

Another person added, “Applebees drinks be all juice and syrups with a whisper of liquor.”

Regardless, many are stopping by Applebee’s for their chance to get their hands on a take-home collectible cup. Chris left Applebee’s with at least five Poolio cups.
