Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke claims UFOs are demonic deceptions and says an unusual breakfast conversation confirmed his belief.
Duke, who became the 10th and youngest person to walk on the Moon in 1972, made these claims during a recent appearance on the Christian Broadcasting Network.
Charlie Duke says he asked God for a sign, and he received it
“For a long time I was praying about UFOs, and asked for a sign,” Charlie Duke said. “I felt like UFOs were demonic … but I was saying that at rotary clubs and stuff like that, and people were laughing me off the stage.”
Duke, now 91, claims he asked God for a sign to reassure him that he wasn’t wrong in his belief. And he says he got it.
“I said, ‘God, if I’m really right about this, then give me a sign tomorrow morning that a very good friend of mine at breakfast will start talking about UFOs,'” he said. “And this guy’s a businessman. He never talks about science stuff or … stuff like that. So the next morning at breakfast, we sat down, he said, ‘Charlie, come on over. I wanna start talking to you about UFOs.'”

Duke believes that sign was in reference to a passage of scripture.
“The Lord says what we’re seeing is real, but the devil can appear as an angel of light, the Bible says,” he said. “And so what I believe … is the UFOs are trying to turn us away from the truth and run after these alien beings, which are really not beings at all. They’re demonic.”
A former Congresswoman made a similar claim
The astronaut isn’t alone in the belief that UFOs and aliens are somehow related to demons. Former Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene made a similar claim in 2025.
“I believe those could be fallen angels. I definitely believe,” Greene told Bill Maher on his show. “And I believe those could be fallen angels. All these things could be real.”
“Fallen angels?” Maher then asked. “That the aliens are fallen angels?”
“That’s possible. I think that’s what they could be,” Greene replied. “That’s what makes sense in my worldview.”

Other government officials also believe UFOs and aliens are ‘demons’
Dan Farah, the director of a documentary called The Age of Disclosure, said she wasn’t the only person in the U.S. government who holds those beliefs.
“So… in the film, one of the senior intelligence officials named Jay Stratton, he was the Director of Air and Space Warfare at the Defense Intelligence Agency,” Farah recalled to Maher. “And then he ran the U.S. government’s UAP task force. He tells a story about how he was trying to run this issue up the flagpole and bring attention to it, at the Pentagon, in a serious office space, and, uh… his superiors told him that they thought these things were demons and that he was doing the devil’s work by looking into it.”
Jay Stratton is the same person who wrote in a recently released book that aliens were recovered alive from the infamous Roswell, New Mexico, crash in 1947, but later died after refusing food and human contact. He also claimed military contractors possess at least a dozen crashed spacecraft and have recovered non-human remains. And he thought they were crazy.
Dan Farah continued, recalling, “And on camera in the film, he says, ‘I can’t believe these words were coming out of their mouths.’ He’s like, ‘I’m briefing them on an advanced aerospace vehicle that’s absolutely there. It’s been spotted by trained observers like our Navy fighter pilots in their 80-million-dollar airplanes that we trust them with, right? It’s been spotted on data collection systems like satellite and radar. And this guy is telling me, “It’s a demon. It’s insane.” And he’s like, ‘My mind was blown, and this is something I’m dealing with inside of the government.’”
Vice-President J.D. Vance also thinks aliens are ‘demons’
In March, J.D. Vance, the Vice President of the United States, admitted that he too considers aliens to be “demons.”
“I don’t think they’re aliens, I think they’re demons anyway, but that’s a longer discussion,” he said on the Benny Show podcast. “Well, look, I think that celestial beings who fly around, who do weird things to people. I think that the desire to describe everything celestial, everything is otherworldly, to describe it as aliens.
“Every great world religion, including Christianity, the one that I believe in, has understood that there are weird things out there, and there are things that are very difficult to explain. And I naturally go, when I hear about sort of extra-natural phenomenon, that’s where I go, is the Christian understanding that, you know, there’s a lot of good out there, but there’s also some evil out there. I think that one of the devil’s great tricks is to convince people he never existed.”
