If This Batman Teaser For ‘The Snyder Cut’ Doesn’t Get You Hyped, Get Your Pulse Checked

I often joke that the impact Batman: The Animated Series had on my life is incalculable. Said in jest, surely, but there’s also tons of truth to it. That statement is so true, in fact, that it’s because of that series that I’m likely sitting here talking to you today.

What’s my point? My point is that I’ve been a gigantic, unabashed Batman nerd for as long as I can remember. I still own the homemade Batman Halloween costume that my Grandfather made for four-year-old me.

In the years since my childhood, Batman has only grown in stature as 21st Century Hollywood has steamrolled into the comic book movie-making business. We now live in a world where there are TWO live-action Batmen in the mix: Ben Affleck’s and Robert Pattinson’s.

And while Affleck’s, as we know, is on the way out following Zack Snyder’s Justice League and The Flash, based on this latest trailer, it doesn’t seem like the DCEU version of the Caped Crusader is going to let history write his legacy without a fight, as this brief, albeit electric teaser from The Snyder Cut is arguably the best piece of marketing they’ve put out yet, while simultaneously also making Batman look more badass than he did at any point in 2017’s Joss Whedon-directed Justice League.

While being human is the characteristic that makes Batman so everlasting, it’s also the one that undercuts his influence in grand, cosmic battles like the one that’s set to unfold against Darkseid, so making it feel as though Batman could legitimately contribute to that fight is no easy feat, but this trailer manages to do exactly that.
