Beyoncé made an insane amount of money as the highest paid woman in music in 2017. According to Forbes, Beyoncé earned over 2x the amount of money Taylor Swift (#3) brought home in 2017. Capping out the Top 10 of the highest paid women in music in 2017 was…….wait for it………Barbara Streisand.

Obviously, 2017 isn’t over yet. So it might seem a little confusing to see someone ranked as the highest earner of the year when there’s still 1.5 months left in the year. But, for Forbes‘ annual list of the Highest Paid Women in Music they use pretax income from June 1, 2016, to June 1, 2017, as their fiscal calendar. Beyoncé absolutely dwarfed the competition this year, bringing in over $100 million in 12 months thanks to ‘Lemonade’ which netter her a 6th solo #1 and the Formation World Tour which grossed over $250 million.

Some noticeable names that don’t appear on Forbes‘ Top 10 list of the Highest Paid Women in Music for 2017 include Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Selena Gomez. The biggest financial gains these musicians see come from massive world tours, and those artists apparently didn’t tour hard enough in the past 12 months. Here’s a look at Forbes‘ annual list of the Highest Paid Women in Music:

10. Barbara Streisand ($30 million)
9. Katy Perry ($33 million)
8. Britney Spears ($34 million)
7. Rihanna ($36 million)
6. Dolly Parton ($37 million)
5. Jennifer Lopez ($38 million)
4. Celine Dion ($42 million)
3. Taylor Swift ($44 million)
2. Adele ($69 million)
1. Beyoncé ($105 million)

Who the fuck are these people going shelling out millions to see Barbara Streisand, Dolly Parton, and Celine Dion? I understand why Britney Spears is on this list. She made a fortune off of her Las Vegas residency. But why are people still spending tens of millions annually to see Dolly Parton in concert? This makes zero sense to me.
