Billy Evans, husband of convicted Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, has denied speculation that he was using cocaine while filming Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s hit documentary You Can See Everything. Evans instead blamed his habitual sniffling on allergies.
Evans, who has become one of the most-discussed figures in the A24 documentary thanks to his bizarre behavior and contentious relationship with Nathan Fielder, addressed the speculation during an AMA session on social media earlier this week.

During the AMA, Evans — the most controversial figure in the wake of You Can See Everything, which was a movie about one of the most famous liars of the 21st century — was asked whether he had been using cocaine during the production of the film, as viewers had noticed that he frequently sniffles throughout the film.
“Never been a fan,” Evans responded when asked about the drug.
Evans then provided an alternative explanation for his constant sniffling, pointing to the difficulties of raising two young children while Holmes serves her prison sentence.
“Solo parenting 2 toddlers you are sick approx 75% of days. Allergies in Austin TX are no joke,” Evans wrote. “I take Claritin daily. Much less sniffling.”

The documentary, which was directed by Oppenheim and produced by Fielder, follows Holmes and Evans during the final month before the disgraced Theranos founder began serving her federal prison sentence in May 2023.
Evans also pushed back on criticism of his relationship with Holmes, specifically the revelation that he holds power of attorney over her and has been operating her Twitter account, including posting AI-generated images of the former Theranos CEO.
According to Evans, Holmes is aware of and approves the social media activity, with the power of attorney simply allowing him to act on her behalf while she’s incarcerated.
Evans’ remarks come as You Can See Everything has become one of the biggest documentary hits in recent memory, with the film generating widespread discussion about Holmes, her relationship with Evans, and the increasingly uncomfortable interactions between Evans and Fielder.
You Can See Everything, which has grossed over $65 million at the box office, is widely expected to become the first documentary to earn a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards.
