Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is one of those movies that the longer you sit and sleep on it, the more you find yourself enjoying it.

Warning: spoilers for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood will follow.

Take me, for example: when initially leaving the theater, I found myself slightly disappointed by the film, mostly due to its lackadaisical pacing and loose plot. Considering it is, after all, a Quentin Tarantino flick, I went in with expectations of it being a narrative-driven thrill ride that we’ve come to expect from the acclaimed director.

Alas, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is very different from the usual Tarantino feature, and while that may be off-putting to some, the longer I’ve had to think about it, the more I’ve found myself enjoying it.

So, it should come as no surprise that even though Once Upon A Time In Hollywood has been out for almost an entire month, there’s seemingly a new tidbit or piece of tasty information about the film coming out every day — the latest of which comes from Brad Pitt himself.

Speaking to The Los Angeles Times, Pitt discussed one of the film’s most contentious details: the fact that his character, Cliff Booth, apparently killed his wife.

And while Pitt said he knows definitively if Booth actually committed the crime, his response to whether or not he’ll disclose such information was a brief one: “That, I will never tell,” he said. “Why spoil that?”

As I’ve previously written, it should come as no surprise that Pitt, Tarantino, and everyone else involved with the film is playing coy about that character detail, as the whole reason it’s introduced in the first place is to place a dark cloud over the film’s best character. Everything about Cliff Booth screams cool, and yet, you can’t help but shake the feeling that he probably killed his wife, which is entirely by design.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is currently playing in theaters.
