With the release of Fast X a little under two months away, that means the media hype machine is going to kick into gear any day now. In fact, it apparently already has, as Brie Larson — the latest star to join the franchise — recently sat down for a feature interview with Harper’s Bazaar.

Hilariously, Vin Diesel not only makes a brief appearance in the interview but does so to claim that Larson based her character in the film on his eight-year-old daughter, which is the type of sentence that only Diesel could say.

Vin Diesel tells me that she (Larson) based her character in Fast X on his eight-year-old daughter, who was wearing a jacket with “Good Vibes Only” printed across the back when they met. “Brie went to the wardrobe department and had them re-create the jacket,” he says. “She wore it throughout the movie.” [via Harper’s Bazaar]

Here’s the synopsis for Fast X, according to Universal Pictures:

Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat (Jason Momoa) emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.

In addition to the Academy Award-winning Larson as Tess and the franchise-leading VinDiesel, Fast X — which is set to be the penultimate film in the franchise — stars Jason Statham, Jason Momoa, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Charlize Theron, Alan Ritchson, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Nathalie Emmanuel, Scott Eastwood, Michael Rooker, Daniela Melchior, Helen Mirren, Cardi B, Rita Moreno, and more.
