Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes have become fast friends over the last eight+ months. And it’s not just something that came together because their significant others make one of the most dynamic duos in NFL history. While that is obviously a big part of the equation, because it is what led them to meet in the first place, they’re actually friends in real life beyond the football stadium.
Patrick’s mother, Randi, issued a strong defense of her daughter-in-law’s real-life friendship with the international pop icon at the NFL Honors in Las Vegas. They apparently “talk all the time.”
Part of that conversation may or may not have included Brittany’s wardrobe for a bachelorette party over the weekend. She was down in Mexico to celebrate her friend Mallory Moss while Taylor was wrapping up her four-night run in Sydney, Australia.
Meanwhile, Patrick and Travis Kelce were dodging cleat-chasers in Las Vegas. But that’s beside the point.
If Brittany and Taylor did not communicate about the former’s outfits for the weekend, she stole a look from the latter. Which of course is totally normal, but will cause a lot of people to freak out.
People were quick to notice that Brittany wore a grey sequin dress that looked extremely similar to the one that Taylor wore on the cover of Time Magazine. It certainly appeared to be the exact same dress. However, internet sleuths suggested that Brittany’s dress was not full-length, while Taylor’s was. I don’t know how they know that based off of a waist-up photo of the latter, but I would never underestimate the knowledge of the Swifties.
And before I get attacked here — I am not insinuating that Taylor definitively loaned Brittany her dress. I am also not going to rule it out. Stylists often work in parallel. Brittany may have liked Taylor’s look so much that she bought the same dress for herself. She may not have known that it was the same dress!
With that being said, though, who is to say that Taylor Swift didn’t share her dress with her friend?!
