To the untrained eye, Buc-ee’s is just a convenience store and gas station. However, for many people, it is a treasure trove of pure imagination.
While there have been issues in the past with gas pump etiquette and a dodgy brisket sandwich, Buc-ee’s products appear to have become a status symbol as of late. Items like the ‘Bucktini,’ Buc-ee’s bikini, have gone especially viral on social media.
In a video that has garnered 3.8 million views, TikToker Brynn (@brynnfofo) shared her quest to find the coveted product. She began the video in her car.
“Unfortunately this morning, I did see that Buc-ee’s is now selling a cheetah [leopard] print and pink bathing suit in multiple different types of forms, like a whole bathing suit or a bikini, and I then realized in the exact same moment that I have a dentist appointment today in Fort Collins, Colorado,” she said.
Brynn then went on to explain how, while driving, she found the “only Buc-ee’s in the state of Colorado.”
“So come with me to find the Bucktini,” she continued. “We will find the Bucktini. Every single time I come to Buc-ee’s, I end up spending like $100. I may or may not purchase sugar pecans either. That might be on the agenda, but we’ll see. Let’s find the Bucktini.”
The Quest For The Bucktini Begins
The camera then switches into a POV perspective as Brynn leaves the car, points out the Buc-ee’s items she already owns, and heads inside the store. “Praise the beaver,” she says.
Things start well, as Brynn seems to already get tempted by a leopard print roller suitcase.
As she approaches the fully stocked stand of the swimsuits, she shares a laugh with a fellow shopper, saying, “Pink, and cheetah, and Buc-ee, right?”
To which the shopper replied, “The trifecta.”
Carrying on the theme are towels including pink, leopard print, and Buc-ee. Pointing them out, the TikToker adds, “[This] should have never ever been allowed to happen, and I should have never ever been allowed to find out about it.”
Returning to the swimsuits, Brynn continues, “But now the question is though, are we doing the whole, or are we doing the Bucktini? What are we doing y’all.”
Ultimately, she decided on the Bucktini string top and regular bottoms.
She also drew attention to the “cute” children’s swimsuits before picking up the Buc-ee’s towel she was admiring earlier.
Other Buc-ee’s items she looked at included its fanny packs, reusable bags, caps, and event banners.
After that, she made a beeline for the glazed pecans, happily declaring to one: “You’re coming home with me.”
She then got “sidetracked” by themed pyjamas.
One More Item
However, on the way to the cash register, she admitted she was “really tempted” to go back and see how much the cooler cost.
On her way back, she also came across Buc-ee’s sleeping bags, makeup/toiletries bags and handbags. On the sleeping bags specifically, she said, “Buc-ees’ is for the b—-s”
With the cooler being just $20, the TikToker decided to go for it.
Back in her car, she shared the final damage: $76.
“[The] girl at checkout told me she was noticing a theme, and I said, ‘Yes, you are indeed. You are indeed noticing a theme. I saw this on TikTok this morning.’ She was like, ‘Really? ‘ So get it before it’s viral because when I just said that her face was like [makes shocked face] Like, she knew she’s in for it, right?” Brynn said.
She ended the video with a final haul of her shopping: the bikini, cooler, and towel. She noted that their items are often “worth the investment.”
The towel and cooler both cost $19.99 each; the glazed pecan cost $4.49. This means that the bikini top and bottom must have cost around $31.50.
“As that lady said, literally the trifecta: pink, cheetah, Buc-ee, sign me the f— up,” Brynn concluded.
After that video, she made a follow-up sharing her experience of buying more Buc-ee’s products, including the leopard print hat, leopard print pink reusable bag, pecans, and cashews. However, she couldn’t find the themed Stanley-style cup. The cashier confirmed to her that the cup was sold out.
BroBible reached out to Brynn via Instagram direct message and Buc-ee’s via email.
What Did Commenters Say?
In the comments, several satisfied customers shared pictures of themselves in the Bucktini.
“Yesssss,” one wrote, “it’s a Buc-ee’s girl summer.”
“I was early enough for it!” a second enthused.
While a third said, “Waiting for the buckini reveal!”
Other commenters were more concerned with Brynn saying “cheetah print” instead of leopard print.
“Stop saying cheetah print bc that isn’t cheetah print,” a fourth said, to which a fifth replied, “IT’S THE ANIMAL PRINT POLICE.”
@brynnfofo The European mind could never comprehend the trifecta #bucees #shopping #haul #american
Will There Be A Second Buc-ee’s In Colorado?
In April, The Colorado Sun reported that a company tied to Buc-ee’s purchased some land across Interstate 25 in El Paso County. According to the outlet, this land isn’t too far off from the site that developers previously wanted to build the state’s second Buc-ee’s on.
County records viewed by the Sun confirm that the company that bought the land is named Buc-ee’s EPCO LLC. Reportedly, this company, which was established in January, is linked to Buc-ee’s Texas headquarters. Jeff Nadalo, Buc-ee’s general counsel, was the one who filed to make the company, records show.
This comes after developers ultimately withdrew their application to build a Palmer Lake branch in February. The proposed build proved to be very controversial and a divisive topic among citizens. So, it’ll be interesting to see whether this new purchase goes the distance.
