A McDonald's customer got an unwelcome surprise at the fast-food restaurant after discovering something strange in her drink.

A McDonald’s Diet Coke is the perfect way to top off a meal. But after her experience, one customer may well be put off the beverage for life.

TikToker Jo (@jordynboldin) starts her video, which has amassed 7,391 views, by saying, “So I just finished drinking my Diet Coke, from McDonalds, and as I looked at the cup, I saw something.”

She then showed the bottom of the cup to a camera, where an object was visible.

“It’s an earring,” she says.

She then changes the angle of the camera, showing viewers the inside of the cup.

“I don’t know if you can see it, but there is an earring in my drink… and I finished the whole thing,” she adds.

There’s a chained pearl earring in the cup.

“So I wasn’t looking. I was just, like, picking up, taking a sip. whatever,” she concludes.

“Literally, it was in someone’s ear,” she notes before grimacing.

Unless this is some kind of twisted McDonald’s Monopoly, this may well be the worst McDonald’s experience of all time.

‘Someone’s About To Make Bank’

Some viewers were horrified.

“This is INSANE,” one wrote.

“HELLO THAT’S HUGE,” another added.

“Someone’s about to make BANK,” a third said.

While a fourth suggested, “Take it back and see who it belongs to.”

In a more lengthy response, a fifth commented, “You’re NOT supposed to wear jewelry in food service. I’d take the cup to whatever location you purchased it (with the earring still in it) and show it to a manager so the right person gets in trouble. Then make a complaint to however many health inspectors you have in your area. Not to be a Karen but that absolutely disgusting and I’m so sorry that happened to you.”

What To Do If You Find A Foreign Item In Your McDonald’s

On the r/wellthatsucks subreddit, one user shared their identical experience and how they handled it. A large spiral earring was found in their drink, which looked like an iced tea.

“I went to the restaurant and dined in,” they explained. “Took my drink home, sipped on it for quite awhile and discovered an earring at the bottom. Neither myself or my partner wear earrings. Returned to get a refund and the cashier was still there to die in front of me when I showed it to her.”

In conversation with another Redditor, the original poster added further details. “I grabbed the manager to ask the employee if she was missing an earring. Her hairstyle obscured her ears completely,” they wrote.

“Why not ask the employee directly?” the other user said in response.

“In the off chance she were to remove the other earring and deny it,” they explained. “Plus, I wasn’t leaving without a refund.”
