Activision is about to give you the power to customize your weapons in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare. So if you have the wrong type of weapon attachments and get gunned down by a 9-year-old who spews derogatory comments about your mom, you have nobody to blame but yourself.

Activision teased their brand-new Gunsmithing system for the multiplayer game modes in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. While Call of Duty has always given gamers the power to customize their weapons and loadouts, the new Gunsmithing feature takes it to another level.

The new feature and a teaser trailer were unveiled on Activision’s blog on Monday.

“Getting the right selection of attachments is vitally-important to your Multiplayer game,” Activision said in the blog post. “Thankfully, there’s an impressive array of options, as we cycle through some of the many customization options, at various times locking in a Muzzle Break, Balanced Suppressor, Scout Combat Optic, Lightweight Stock, CQB grip, Corp Combat and Holo Sight.”

“Gunsmithing is a robust weapon customization option for your two main Loadout weapons: Each Primary and Secondary Weapon can be augmented to give you the precise type and style of firepower you require for any type of multiplayer game mode,” the post promises.

“You can customize up to five parts of each weapon, until your available slots are filled,” the blog states. “With Assault rifles, for example, you usually have nine areas of the weapon to augment: The Muzzle, Lasers, Optic, Stock, Rear Grip, Magazine, Underbarrel, Barrel, or a Perk.”

So now you’ll really be able to develop a strategy for your multiplayer gaming and then personalize your rifle to maximize your style of play whether it be sniping or run-and-gun.

We’ll get to see more of the Gunsmithing options when Activision hosts their multiplayer event on August 1st. In the meantime, enjoy this beautiful Modern Warfare gameplay as seen in glorious 4K on a PlayStation 4 Pro. A few days ago, Activision shared over five minutes of raw gameplay of their new fast-paced, smaller map, 2-vs-2 multiplayer mode called “Gunfight.”
