According to one Miami-based private investigator, it’s not the big thing that exposes a cheating man. It’s all about the small things.
Justin (@justinvestigations) took to social media to put cheating men on blast. In a TikTok video that’s gone viral with over 2.5 million views, the sunglasses-wearing detective speaks directly into the camera. He explains that there’s one thing that men do that means they might be cheating. And he’s convinced no one ever suspects it.
Sometimes The Sneaking Is Obvious
“There’s one thing that men do right before they cheat that you would never suspect is a red flag,” he says.
The camera cuts to a new scene, and Justin has taken off his sunglasses to make eye contact. “The car wash,” he says, pounding one hand into another for emphasis.
His proof? He says he “can’t tell you how many times he’s been hired by a woman to follow her man around on a cheating case. And the day he’s gong to cheat, that day, he gets his car washed.”
So he unpacks the logic: “Think about it,” he says. “He’s gonna try and impress her. You think he’s going to pull up on his side piece with his car looking like s—? No chance.”
Not Every Clean Car Means An Unfaithful Man
Justin is quick to offer a caveat for his assertion, saying that not every man who cleans his car is cheating. But here’s what he means: “Pay attention to changes. If this man has been driving around in the same dirty-a– car for five years and all of the sudden he starts keeping it spotless, something’s off.”
He ends his video, saying, “If something feels off, your intuition is usually correct. Don’t ignore it, don’t get played.”
The internet is not about to get played. Commenters are responding with plans, philosophies, and language patterns.
“Been with my husband almost 30 yrs. Never shaved his junk. A year ago he started shaving religiously and hasn’t stopped. That’s also about the time he stopped doing nice things for me. I’m saving up my money and quietly planning my escape,” one woman said.
Another married woman chimed in, sharing, “I love my husband but I think I’ll sleep with one eye open til I die. It’s always ‘not my man’ until it is lol.”
While another user noted that something super subtle tipped her off. “He said ‘starbies’ one day…. I don’t say that…” she wrote.
How Does Intuition Work?
Intuition is that thing you know, but you don’t know exactly how you know it. It’s certainly not the kind of thing that holds up in court, but it might lead to things that do.
In a Psychology Today article, Thomas R. Verny, M.D., wrote that “intuition is the ability to understand something instinctively, without any need for conscious reasoning or an explanation. He then presented evidence that the “gut feeling” people get might be a biochemical reaction.
He wrote, “The gut and the heart contain a significant amount of neural tissue and are connected to the brain by way of the vagus nerve. That’s the so-called gut-brain and heart-brain axes. Humans have an “inborn ability to make inferences about relevant things.”
But a part of this is related to biochemical signals in addition to learned or observed knowledge.
That doesn’t mean intuition is infallible. In fact, because it is such a fast way of processing, it is more prone to error. But it also often operates outside of the boundaries of statistical and logical information. This is why, when an unfaithful partner starts explaining “perfectly plausible reasons” for certain behaviors, it can read as manipulative. Because instinct isn’t something that can be argued like a legal brief.
