  • Carson Wentz was traded from the Colts to the Commanders.
  • The former Eagles QB has now been with three teams in less than a year.
  • Wentz had his introductory press conference in Washington on Thursday and made a questionable outfit choice.

After just one season and less than a year in Indianapolis, former first-round pick Carson Wentz now finds himself as the quarterback of the Washington Commanders after being traded away from the Colts. The Commanders marks Wentz’s third team in less than a year.

The North Dakota State product was introduced to his new city with a press conference on Thursday, but unfortunately for Wentz, his outfit led to everyone simply cracking jokes about him, which seems to be the theme of his career in recent years.

Wentz’s Colts career essentially came to an end during the final game of the season when the team last to the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars with a postseason berth on the line. Losing the game by a score of 26-11, Wentz completed just 17 of 29 passes for 185 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Apparently, the Colts’ coaching staff was so disappointed with Wentz’s play this season that head coach Frank Reich literally apologized to team owner Jim Irsay for bringing the 29-year-old signal-caller to the team.

Once considered to be one of the National Football League’s rising stars at the quarterback position, Wentz’s game has regressed considerably in the past few years. After being an MVP candidate during the Eagles’ Super Bowl-winning season a few years back, Wentz ultimately lost the job to Jalen Hurts and was subsequently traded to the Colts. During the 2021 regular season, his first and only year in Indy, Wentz completed 322 of 516 passes for 3,563 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
