With its doorstop-sized mozzarella sticks, the Triple Dipper is arguably one of the highlights of the Chili’s menu. However, one customer has gone viral after sharing her disappointment over the dish—but is she right, or is this part of a bigger Mandela Effect?
In the viral TikTok, user Vickie (@vickiej_) shared footage of two Triple Dipper meals, each with two chunky mozzarella sticks.
“Since when did the Triple Dipper start coming with two mozzarella sticks?” she asked. “What is two mozzarella sticks? It used to come with at least three, and four I know for a fact.”
“Chili’s, I don’t appreciate that,” she added. She then panned the camera to her son, who was sitting opposite her in the restaurant. “We don’t appreciate that.”
The video garnered 1.3 million views.
BroBible reached out to Vickie and Brinker, Chili’s parent company, via TikTok direct message and email, respectively.
What Did Commenters Think?
Some commenters quashed Vickie’s claims.
“It never used to be 3 mind you,” one wrote.
“Is always been 2 sticks,” a second added. “You’re thinking tenders.”
While a third insisted, “It’s definitely been 2. All the promotional material you look up shows 2.”
The official Chili’s TikTok account even weighed in, leaving a comment saying, “It’s always been two,” followed by two heart emojis.
However, others backed her up.
“It was 100% 3 mozz sticks,” a fifth said. “My husband son and I ate at Chili’s every Friday for about a year. We got the Triple Dipper every time.”
And a sixth chimed in saying, “So many people are missing the point. It doesn’t matter if two is enough if you’re paying the same price and getting less.”
What Does Chili’s Triple Dipper Come With?
On the Chili’s website, there are a total of six different appetizers on offer. To make a Triple Dipper, you select three of them. These appetizers include Big Mouth Bites, Boneless Chicken Wings, Crispy Chicken Crispers, Fried Mozzarella, Southwestern Eggrolls, and Bone-in Chicken Wings.
Along with these appetizers, those who order Triple Dippers have a range of sauces to pair with the dish, including ranch, blue cheese dressing, avocado-ranch, honey mustard, house BBQ, Sweet Chili Zing, buffalo sauce, and Marinara sauce.
While the amount of fried mozzarella pieces isn’t explicitly stated, official images and videos of the Triple Dipper show two fried mozzarella pieces rather than three. That being said, there are three types of fried mozzarella pieces: Original Plain, Nashville Hot, and Honey Chipotle.
With this in mind, it looks like the Chili’s experience Vickie had really was a case of the Mandela Effect. But given Chili’s has changed other beloved staples in the past, including its salsa chips, you can’t blame the TikToker for getting worried.

Have There Been Any Other Food-Inspired Mandela Effects?
As it turns out, established food brands are full of Mandela Effects. The Mandela Effect, in general, refers to a shared collective memory people have that is actually false.
As BroBible previously reported, TikTok user Christina Mandrell (@letsdolifecm) went viral after re-discovering Funyuns.
“New Mandela Effect, or is it just me?” she asked, picking up a pack of Funyuns in a store.
“Don’t they spell I-O-N?” she added. “So it’s like an onion, like a Funyion? But it says Y-U-N-S.”
After repeating the word twice, she asked, “Am I tripping right now?” As it turned out, it had always been Funyuns—but not all viewers agreed.
