A woman said she ordered dressing from Chipotle, then got only a few drops. She's not the only one. Is this the new normal?

If you thought you could still go to Chipotle and get a burrito the size of your head, you might want to think again.

In recent years, many former fans of the chain have accused the restaurant of cutting down on its portion sizes. Some have accused the chain of adding more filler than they did before, while others have alleged that locations are actually giving out less protein than they claim.

While a portion of customers may have stopped visiting the store altogether, there are also some who responded to this apparent change by figuring out ways to get the biggest bang for your buck. “Chipotle hacks” have become ubiquitous online, with diners around the country sharing advice on how to actually get double chicken and gaming the online ordering system for bigger burritos.

Even if these hacks work, the frustration that one needs to use them in the first place is palpable amongst diners. Now, a user on TikTok has the internet talking after getting a paltry portion from Chipotle—but not in the way you might expect.

Chipotle Salad Dressing: Where Is It?

In a video with over 5,000 views, TikTok user and self-admitted “die-hard Chipotle girly” Kelsey Greenhill (@kelseygreenhill) says she recently had an experience at the restaurant that left her questioning reality.

According to Greenhill, she was on her way home from a work meeting when she decided to stop at Chipotle. There, she ordered a salad. But when she asked for salad dressing, she was shocked by what she received.

“I thought it was a joke,” she says. In her video, she shows a salad dressing cup. The dressing barely reaches the line along the bottom of the cup.

“I’m like, ‘Uh, this one’s spilled, sir,’” she recalls.

At this point, she learned it was not a one-off mistake. The worker proceeded to hand her another container with only a tiny amount of dressing. Then, they did it again. By the end, she has a small stack of dressing cups—and still only a minuscule amount of dressing.

“Is this the serving size, or are they just, like…” Greenhill says, trailing off in disbelief. “Like, there’s nothing in here.”

“I am a die-hard Chipotle girl. If you know me, you know this about me. This is unacceptable. This is horrible,” she continues. “Get it together, Chipotle.”

Do Chipotle Workers Skimp On Ingredients?

According to the Chipotle website, a standard dressing should come in at about 2 fluid ounces. In a 4-ounce container like the ones Greenhill is holding, it would be about halfway filled.

However, some customers have accused Chipotle of skimping out on their dressing.

Across Reddit, numerous users have complained about underfilled dressing. In one instance, a user visited Chipotle and questioned whether the tiny portion they got was the normal amount (it wasn’t). Another post was simply titled “Now they’re skimping on the vinaigrette too,” followed by a crying emoji. The post showed a similarly underfilled sauce cup.

All of that said, in the comments of these posts, several self-proclaimed Chipotle workers claimed that portions like these were not normal. Not only that, but other threads on Chipotle’s vinaigrette noted that customers can usually get at least two cups for free.

So, is it annoying and wasteful to ask for four cups to get a single serving of dressing? Of course it is. But, it’s (probably) not going to cost you.

Consumers Are Angry

In the comments section, users voiced their frustration with the current state of Chipotle.

“chipotle acts like that dressing comes out of their paychecks,” said a user. “I have never once successfully placed an order for delivery or pick up and they included the dressing.”

“I don’t know why they act like it is liquid gold! Give me what I freaking paid for!!!!” echoed another.

“And it wouldn’t be so bad if the employees didn’t look at you like you’re crazy,” shared a third.

Others claimed that Greenhill should have reported the store to corporate.

“Report that store,” stated a commenter. “They are clearly rationing so they don’t have to be bothered to make more.”

“Okay even as a manager that’s not okay,” offered a second. “It’s supposed to be 2oz.”
