Chris Brown is facing legal issues again after the R&B singer, members of his entourage, and Live Nation who is promoting his 11:11 Tour were sued for $50 million.
The lawsuit was filed by 4 people who attended Chris Brown‘s recent concert in Fort Worth, Texas at the Dickies Arena. Those fans allege they were the victims of an unprovoked and violent attack which they claim took place backstage at the concert.
Members of Brown’s entourage who were mentioned include Conway, Hood Boss, and Sinko Ceej. The complaint filed by Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush and Damarcus Powell included Live Nation, stating that Live Nation “shamelessly profits and promotes Brown’s The 11:11 Tour and brought Brown to Texas for financial gain” despite Chris Brown’s past history of “violent conduct.”
The four alleged victims who filed the lawsuit against Chris Brown have hired celebrity lawyer Tony Buzbee who famously represented Deshaun Watson back in 2021/22 during Watson’s legal battles with the NFL and accusers. Buzbee also filed a $750M lawsuit against Travis Scott on behalf of the 120 people who were injured (or died) at the Astroworld catastrophe in 2021. Settlements were reached in some of those lawsuits in 2022 but settlement amounts were never disclosed.
Lawyer Tony Buzbee released a statement to PEOPLE about the lawsuit, saying “This is Texas. The people here don’t care how important or famous you think you are, you have an obligation to follow the laws and conduct yourself in an appropriate way. Unprovoked violence can’t and won’t be tolerated. We intend to seek all damages that the law allows against Brown and his cohorts, to include punitive damages.”
Lawsuit Alleges Violent Attack By Chris Brown And Entourage
Details from the complaint paint a grim picture of what happened. The complaint states “the violence included Brown and his entourage surrounding the Plaintiffs, throwing chairs at them, and repeatedly kicking, stomping, and beating them. The unprovoked violence included multiple strikes to the Plaintiffs’ heads and chests, and ultimately involved stomping them while they were down. The brutal, violent assault participated in and directed by Brown, severely injured all Plaintiffs.”
According to the complaint, a back-and-forth in the VIP section sparked the alleged attack. The 4 alleged victims claim to have been in the VIP waiting for Chris Brown but grew tired and went to leave when Charles Bush is said to have congratulated Chris Brown on the performance. At that point, Brown is alleged to have said “man, you don’t remember you two were beefing?” to which Charles Bush responded “Oh yeah, we were. I don’t forget s—.”
It is at this point that Chris Brown is alleged to have directed his entourage to “f—” Charles Bush up and supposedly ‘7 to 10’ members of Chris Brown’s entourage followed them into the hallway and the attack began. Sinko is alleged to have punched Bush in the chest and Hood Boss is alleged to have then thrown a chair at Bush’s head.
The complaint alleges that it got worse from there. It states “upon instruction by Brown, Parker was then punched in the face and chest, kicked in the head for over ten minutes, and stomped on by Defendant Brown and his associates. Brown encouraged his companions to join in the assault simultaneously. Brown and his entourage then continued to beat Plaintiff Parker closed fisted for almost minutes, repeatedly stomping on Defendant Parker’s head, kicking his face and ribs, and causing severe bodily injury.”
Seeking damages in excess of $50 million, this lawsuit has already received major headlines and it was only filed on Sunday with the attack alleged to have occurred last Friday.
In the past, Chris Brown has faced legal trouble after a domestic violence incident with Rihanna, a 2012 fight with Drake at a club in SoHo, a 2013 fight with Frank Ocean, an alleged 2016 assault on Mike G, and a 2017 incident with his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran.
There have also been false accusations made against Chris Brown over the years, so many that there’s actually a ‘False Accusations‘ portion listed on his Legal Issues portion of Wikipedia. And while the allegations made against Chris Brown in this latest lawsuit are damning it’s worth repeating that he and his entourage remain innocent until proven otherwise.
