Taylor Swift is very aware there are plenty of downsides that come with being one of the most famous celebrities on the planet, and Colin Cowherd thinks he inadvertently got a taste of what she has to deal with after falling victim to a home invasion in the town where they both have a home.

Last year, Colin Cowherd dropped $8.5 million to purchase a “seaside cottage” (actually an eight-bedroom, six-bathroom house) in Watch Hill, an exclusive enclave located on the coast of Rhode Island.

That historic community is home to a ton of old money with estates to match as well as a few notable names who have a part-time residence there, including Conan O’Brien and Taylor Swift, the latter of whom purchased “High Watch” (the name given to the lavish mansion overlooking Block Island Sound) in 2013.

As a native of the area, that acquisition caused quite a stir in a town that’s not really used to the attention it’s gotten since Swift set up shop there, and the local police department has been dispatched to the property of a number of occasions courtesy of overzealous Swifties and multiple stalkers who’ve attempted to infiltrate the property.

The location of Swift’s home isn’t exactly a secret, and the fact that the “No Trespassing” sign out front is supplemented with the message “I knew you were trouble when you walked in” makes it pretty clear who the house belongs to.

With that said, Cowherd appears to think he was the victim of a mix-up after falling victim to a break-in at his house, which is located half a mile down the road from Swift’s place.

On a recent episode of The Volume podcast,  Cowherd said he pulled into his driveway last Friday and discovered a woman and her dog sitting in a car outside his house before realizing her boyfriend was inside. He said she acted like they were interested in buying the home, but he came to the conclusion he was being robbed and subsequently called 911.

While he didn’t have any concrete proof the couple was actually targeting Swift’s home (which is permanently manned by private security), he seemed to think the woman (who he said was exhibiting mental health issues) was under the impression she’d arrived at the home of the international musical superstar.

Being Taylor Swift certainly has its perks, but it also has to be very taxing.
