Diddy, formerly P. Diddy, formerly Puffy, formerly Puff Daddy, formerly Sean John Combs, threw his 50th birthday party on Saturday night (curiously, Diddy was born on November 4, 1969) and it was attended by hip-hop royalty. Being over a month late for his real birthday gave Diddy more time to host an even more epic bday extravaganza. The star-studded event was attended by a world-class stable of celebrities including Cardi B and husband Offset, Usher, Leonardo DiCaprio, Naomi Campbell, Pharrell, Paris Hilton, Post Malone, Tyga, Kate Beckinsale, Lala Anthony, Lil Kim, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, the Kardashians, Kylie Jenner, Lizzo, Kelly Rowland, French Montana, and more.

The birthday celebration also featured the reunion between Jay-Z and Kanye West. The two rappers released their collaboration album Watch the Throne in 2011, but shortly after haven’t been on the closest of terms. Jay-Z even missed the Kanye West-Kim Kardashian wedding. The two rap legends put aside their differences for a moment to be congenial to one another at Diddy’s party.

Another interesting moment from the celebrity-laden festivities was the moment that Jay-Z snatched the phone away from a party-goer. A gentleman was taking a photo or a video during the party, and he was pointing it in Jay-Z’s direction. Jay-Z wasn’t having it and quickly snatched the man’s phone right from his hands like he was a child getting put in timeout.

So let me get this straight, this gentleman was using his camera phone to take pics of Jay-Z, but not Beyonce or Saweetie or Kelly Rowland, who were dancing right next to him? Alright. To each their own, I guess.

After the party, Diddy expressed his feelings about the star-studded blowout and shared pics of his VIP guests.

“Last night was one of those nights I’ll never forget. But something that sticks out to me is what my young creative @kaito put together with @vanityfair,” Diddy wrote on Instagram. “All I can say is wow!! I’ve watched you grow from just a photographer to someone who captures beautiful art. Looking at these images makes me so proud. Thank you King! #DIDDY50 and thank you @natmoar.”

That’s right, Diddy’s birthday photographer was Vanity Fair. That slightly edges out your wedding photographer you got off Craigslist for $65 and whatever drinks he wanted at the bar.

It looked as though all had a tremendous time at the party, except the dude who had his phone snatched away by Jay-Z.
