Guy Having Stroke Is Saved By His Brilliant Dog Who Dragged Him To A Phone And Licked His Face To Keep Him Alert

This rescue dog deserves a medal, thousands of dog treats, and unlimited belly rubs for saving his owner’s life after the man collapsed while suffering a stroke.

According to a Facebook post from the dog’s former animal shelter, Sadie, came to the aid of her owner Brian last week when he “fell to the ground and couldn’t move.”

Here’s a little bit about Sadie from the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge:

Sadie is a 6-year-old rescued German Shepherd, surrendered to the shelter when her owner moved.

She was confused and seemingly lost upon rescue, having suddenly lost the only family that she knew.

Sadie is a loyal dog, but nervous and protective with new people, making her a more difficult placement.

Just a few months ago, Brian came into Sadie’s life and decided to adopt her.

Though her bio noted that she was especially nervous with men, Brian felt a special bond with Sadie, as he valued her intelligence, hesitancy to trust and fierce loyalty once she did form that trust.

Brian gave Sadie a second chance at life, adopting Sadie and welcoming her home.

Sadie returned the favor by giving Brian a second chance at life by springing into action when he went down.

Last week, Brian suffered a stroke when home alone with Sadie.  While he was collapsed, Sadie never left his side.

She licked his face to keep him awake and helped drag him across the room to his cell phone.

Sadie was the only reason that Brian was able to call for help.

This time, Sadie gave Brian a second chance at life.

According to the shelter, Sadie is staying with Brian’s family while he recovers in a rehab center, and the pair FaceTime every night.
