Most people don’t want to be surprised when picking up their food delivery.
Generally speaking, most customers want their food hot and ready, prepared to their exact specifications. This includes, if possible, not having the driver interfere with the order at all.
Unfortunately, there’s always a chance that a driver could mess with an order. One survey found that nearly a third of food delivery drivers admit to having eaten customers’ food, and food delivery customers have reported all sorts of issues with using these services.
Now, a user on TikTok has the internet talking after spotting something disgusting included alongside her DoorDash order.
What Went Wrong With This DoorDash Order?
In a video with over 7.2 million views, Ella shows herself opening her door.
On her doorstep are a Chick-fil-A bag, a Chick-fil-A drink, and a clear McDonald’s cup that appears to be filled with a golden liquid. The implication, it seems, is that the cup is filled with urine.
“Ordered from doordash for the last time today,” she writes in the text overlaying the video.
In the caption, she notes that she did not even order anything from McDonald’s. As several commenters noted, McDonald’s generally places its drinks in sealed bags when delivering. This would strongly suggest that the cup had been used.
There’s More To The Story
In a comment, Ella provided additional information about what happened.
According to Ella, she ordered Chick-fil-A via DoorDash from a location that was about 5 miles away.
“When the driver pulled up, I watched her grab my food and a cup from the back seat,” she writes. “I honestly thought it was a coffee.”
“I opened the door, saw the cup, and noticed she was just sitting in her car watching me,” the TikToker continues. From there, she says she “immediately shut the door, locked it, and closed all the blinds because idk people are crazy.”
Ella says that she messaged the driver in search of an explanation. The driver did not respond. Consequently, Ella called the police; the driver left after about 20 minutes.
The Police Get Involved
“When the cops arrived he smelt the cup and said, ‘Well, it’s not pee,’” Ella recalls. “I asked if it was apple juice and he said it wasn’t he didn’t know what was but said it smelt so bad.”
The TikToker says that the police officer offered to pour the cup down a storm drain, to which she agreed. Ella also had the officer throw away the food, as “there was NO way I was touching any of it.” She further states that DoorDash provided a refund.
“I still don’t know what happened,” she concludes. “It was only 5 miles, I tipped $12, I don’t carry cash, l always tip how I’d want to be tipped.”
What Happened Here?
As Ella got rid of the cup before its contents could be determined, it’s difficult to say whether this was a genuine mix-up or something more sinister.
That said, the idea of someone getting a cup of urine with their food delivery is, unfortunately, not particularly far-fetched.
Back in November 2023, a Utah man claimed that he ordered a milkshake via GrubHub. When it arrived, he took a big sip—and discovered that the cup was, in fact, filled with urine. When he reported the incident, GrubHub allegedly only gave him a partial refund. GrubHub later stated that they suspended the driver’s contract.
@ellll_891 i did in fact not order anything from mcdonald’s 😪 ✨UPDATE✨ is in the comments!!
Commenters Are Grossed Out
In the comments section, multiple users expressed their disgust at Ella’s predicament.
“I wouldn’t trust NONE of that food,” declared a user.
“Hi McDonald’s worker here…. we don’t sell apple juice in big cups… that’s piss,” added another.
“This is why I don’t DoorDash I will gladly hop my a– in the car and go get my food,” stated a third. “Ppl getting to weird out here.”
