Some people live and die with their favorite fast-food restaurants, they will defend their favorite fast-food burger against another one until the day they die or yell at you when you say Dunkin’s coffee is better than Strabucks’.
People have their go-to spots that they frequent far more often than any other fast-food spots and now we know which fast-food chain has the most loyal customers thanks to Foursquare’s latest QSR Loyalty Index, QSR standing for quick-service restaurants.
Foursquare’s list is based on the frequency of customers visiting the restaurants, what percentage of fast-food goers visited the certain chain, the median share of each loyal customer’s visits to a particular chain and how often a customer would have to visit to be one of its top 1% of customers.
Here are the Top 10 fast-food chains based on customer loyalty:
- Starbucks
- McDonald’s
- Dunkin’ Donuts
- Sonic Drive-In
- Subway
- Chick-fil-a
- Dairy Queen
- Whataburger
- Tim Hortons
- Domino’s Pizza
There’s no real surprise with the Top 3 here. Some of you may see McDonald’s at No. 2 and may be surprised by the fact it is still indeed the king of the fast-food, but next time you drive by one just check out the line wrapped around the building.
Sonic at No. 4 may throw some people off, but as someone that grew up in Tennessee and has traveled around the South for the majority of their life, people absolutely love them some Sonic. It’s probably not due to the food, but the drinks; the drinks and ice cream at Sonic are very legit.
The oddest name on the list is Subway at No. 5. What the hell is that about? When is the last time you ate at a Subway that wasn’t attached to a gas station while on a road trip? I live half a block from one here in Manhattan and have seen a total of one person walk into that specific location in my seven months of living in my apartment.
Chick-fil-a sitting behind Subway and Sonic on this list has to be some sort of sick joke or error. People go nuts for Chick-fil-a and everyone knows it has a cult-like following.
Dairy Queen wasn’t on the Top 10 list a year ago and jumped a full 14 spots to take the No. 7 spot. Before you argue it being there, go get a blizzard or a chocolate-dipped cone then come back to me about how it’s overrated.
