The first official trailer for Super Troopers 3 has been released. Super Troopers 3 will be released in movie theaters on Friday, August 7.

Super Troopers 3 will feature the return of the entire Broken Lizard comedy team — Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske — and Brian Cox, a far bigger star now than he was when the original was released in 2001, as Captain John O’Hagen.

The first trailer for Super Troopers 3 has been released ahead of its debut in movie theaters on Friday, August 7

Unlike Super Troopers 2, which required crowdfunding to source $2 million of its $4.7 million budget, Super Troopers 3 was produced by Searchlight Pictures, which is owned by Disney. Check out the official synopsis and trailer for Super Troopers 3 below, via Searchlight Pictures:

“Everyone’s favorite cops are back with the third installment of the cult comedy classic from the Broken Lizard crew: Super Troopers 3. When Farva’s wildly over-the-top Indian engagement to Thorny’s sister spirals into chaos, the Super Troopers must navigate Thorny’s schemes to break up the relationship, while trying to crack a pernicious new drug ring — all to save the day and maybe the wedding itself.”

While a solid box office hit at the time –$23 million against a $2 million budget — Super Troopers grew in popularity in the following years as a cult classic thanks to DVD sales and repeat cable broadcasts, and ultimately became one of the defining comedies of its era.

In addition to Chandrasekhar, Heffernan, Lemme, Soter, Stolhanske, and Cox, Marisa Coughlan will also be returning as Officer Ursula Hanson, while the new additions include Nat Faxon, Chace Crawford, Andrew Dismukes, Hannah Simone, Iqbal Theba, Sakina Jaffrey, Jon Rudnitsky, and Lisa Gilroy.
