During this time of year, there is nothing better than a game of golf or two. However, due to the habits of alligators in Florida, don’t expect to be playing alone.
Alligators are known for causing chaos across the state, and have gone viral numerous times while doing so, whether that be by taking up residence in a swimming pool or by perusing the local sights on a charming hiking trail.
Either way, they’re the last thing you expect to see when you’re about to play a game of golf.
In the viral TikTok, Rachel Hanson (@rachhansonn) was sitting in a golf cart as she got her phone out and filmed a monumentally-sized alligator casually strolling past.
The video was accompanied by the viral “um, guys” sound by TK DIPA. In the video description, Hanson added, “I almost s— my pants because why is this a literal dinosaur gator?”
It amassed a view count of 18 million, which, arguably, is almost as large as the alligator itself.
In an Instagram direct message to BroBible, Hanson said, “I was not expecting the amount of attention it was going to get and I think it’s so cool, and I’m very thankful.”
How Did Commenters React?
Needless to say, commenters were gobsmacked. “That’s a crocodile not a gator,” one wrote. “Okay, that’s not even normal for Florida hol’ on,” a second added. While a third said, “That’s gotta be over 150 years old. That’s a dinosaur. Beautiful. That is so cool.”
Multiple commenters also suggested that the alligator might be AI—for their own sanity above all else.
“This is AI for my safety,” a fourth insisted. While a fifth admitted, “This is Ai…. Even if it isn’t, I’m telling myself that it is CAUSE…. WHAT?!”

Alligator Interrupts Zurich Classic Game
Alligators have been causing a lot of havoc in the golf scene recently. During the final round of the Zurich Classic in New Orleans, spectators were left stunned when a gator casually strolled past the course at the PGA Tour. The creature was inches away from golf royalty, and the players were forced to pause as the gator sauntered across.
In the comments section of a TikTok posted by the official PGA account, users were highly amused.
“Bro was like lemmie get a swing,” one joked. “Tell me you’re in New Orleans without telling me you’re in New Orleans,” a second quipped. “He just wants an autograph,” a third chimed in, while a fourth added, “Looks like he’s having a good day. Love to see it.”
