Florida Burger King Employee Caught On Video Cleaning Tables With A Mop

An employee at a Florida Burger King was caught on video cleaning tables with a mop. On the “glass is half full” argument, at least he is cleaning the table.

We take you to Fruit Cove, Florida, a suburb that is about 30 minutes south of Jacksonville. That’s where a customer was outside the fast food location and recorded a video of the employee cleaning a table in the restaurant with a dirty mop.

The same mop that is used to clean the floor that people track mud on. The same mop that is used to clean Burger King bathrooms where 17-year-olds puke after getting drunk on hard seltzer at a party. For those who have not had the privilege to work in the fast food industry, this is not how you clean tables. You have a sponge or rag for cleaning tables.

Customer Katie Duran filmed the rather disturbing situation and shared the video on the internet.

“It was disgusting, honestly,” Duran told News4Jax.

Then Katie made the nasty revelation, “I had just eaten on that table.”

Then Katie asked the Florida man, “Did you do this yesterday? Do you do this every night? Did you do this, this morning?”

Duran sent the video to Burger King’s corporate offices and received a response of: “Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and rest assure that your comments have been forwarded to the appropriate management team.”

A Burger King spokesperson issued the statement: “The action depicted in the video is unacceptable and not in line with our brand standards or operational procedures. We have strict protocols around cleanliness and food safety. The restaurant owner will be re-training his team on all operational protocols.”

The company did not indicate whether the worker had been disciplined or not. This particular location has been cited before with eight violations.

Why anyone is eating in a dirty fast food restaurant with hard plastic seating is beyond me. Eat in the comfort of your car far from mopped tables and other human beings who will ruin your meal.
