“The Pony” on East Gregory Street has served more than 400 dinners since Monday.
Dancers say they wanted to do something kind for the community in the wake of the hurricane.
They’ve served spaghetti and meat sauce, hamburgers and Conecuh Sausage — running purely on donations.
“We’re seeing all different types of people. We’re seeing single mothers. We’re seeing linemen, workers,” said Sarah Phillips with The Pony. “Really everybody in the community has came through — single dads, older people.”
“It’s good to give back,” she added. “And as much as the hurricane was a disaster, it brings the community together and that’s what it’s about.”
The local news ran a segment on the dancers helping hurricane victims.
