A Florida family found something startling on their Ring Doorbell camera: an 8-foot alligator trying to make its way inside. Just a normal day in Florida, right?
There are an estimated 1.3 million alligators here in the Sunshine State where I was born and raised. For millions of Floridians, seeing alligators is part of everyday life. But it’s not often they try and make their way indoors.
8-Foot Alligator Tries To Enter Palm Bay, Florida Home
The family spotted the 8′ gator on their doorbell camera and according to reports it refused to leave. A state licensed trapper had to be called to remove the alligator from the premises and safely relocate it nearby before the family was able to leave their domicile… Imagine being in their shoes for the hour or two this took!

Apparently the alligator triggered the doorbell’s motion sensor and woke up the homeowner Wynn when her phone received the motion alert. From there the family watched through a window as the alligator made itself at home.
While I have yet to find an alligator attempting to enter my home here in Florida I did once find one in the men’s bathroom back in high school. It had sauntered right out of the pond and into the bathroom and made itself right at home. Is that what this gator was attempting to do? Who knows.
It’s been a weird week for alligator home invasions here in Florida. This 9-footer was found inside a swimming pool chilling like it owned the place!
