Woman Goes To Miami Walgreens For A Toothbrush On Vacation. Then She Sees What Passes As A Toothbrush In Florida

A woman went to a Miami, Fla., Walgreens to pick up some toiletries. When she went to the oral care aisle, she couldn’t believe what kind of toothbrushes the convenience store is selling.

In a video with over 38,000 views, TikToker Heather Rose (@heatherose.k) holds up the bizarre toothbrush. The orange Walgreens-brand toothbrush has a longer-than-normal brush head.

“Can somebody explain to me what is God’s name is this?” she exclaims. “Who is using this toothbrush?”

Rose holds the toothbrush up to her mouth, showing that the brush is as long as her lips. The caption reads, “If you use this, I need to hear from you. ASAP.”

What’s The Huge Toothbrush Actually For?

According to Walgreens’ website, the abnormally large toothbrush is designed to clean more surface area at a time. The handle is also designed for an easier grip.

This may benefit shoppers who have mobility issues or need to cover more surface area, such as people who wear dentures.

There are even brands that only make larger toothbrushes, like Big Mouth Toothbrush, that cite other benefits of the huge brush head. A blog post by the brand suggests that a large brush head can save time, be more gentle, and clean deeper.

On the r/Dentistry subreddit, members debated whether a toothbrush with more bristles is actually helpful.

A commenter joked, “Yes, it needs to be exactly the amount of stabs that Julius Cesar took, excluding the brodus stab.”

However, another suggested that you don’t really need a comically big toothbrush. Instead, the stiffness of the bristles matters more.

“Actually the stiffness of the toothbrush is more important that the number of the bristles,a lot of studies have demonstrated that a soft (or ultra-soft) bristles can be as effective as u want them to be,without hurting the gums,” one wrote.

Do Viewers Have Any Guesses?

In the comments of the viral TikTok, viewers joke about what the huge toothbrush could be for.

“Horses,” one remarked,

Another suggested, “For people who have to have the last word.”

“Nobody is using it, it’s still in the package, dude,” a third added.

“Multi purpose, brush your hair teeth and everything I between all at once.. you’re welcome!” a fourth commented sarcastically.

Others poked fun at celebrities with iconic smiles who they believe could use the big brush.

“Thats the mick Jagger signature series,” a viewer says.

“That’s a Jim Carrey and Julia Roberts toothbrush” a second writes.
