The entire main cast of Friends has released a statement on the death of Matthew Perry, who starred in the series as Chandler Bing from 1996 to 2004.

Perry passed away on Saturday, October 28 at the age of 58 years old. While Perry was found unresponsive in the hot tub at his Los Angeles home, police say foul play is not suspected.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world,” the statement, released on Monday night, reads.

Further reports indicate that the cast will not only be in attendance at the funeral but that Lisa Kudrow, who starred alongside Perry on Friends as Phoebe Buffay, is apparently considering adopting Perry’s dog, Alfred.

At this time, the details of Perry’s funeral proceedings have not been made public, although his family did release the following statement to People:

“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”

In addition to Friends, Perry was known for his performances in movies such as Fools Rush In, The Whole Nine Yards, The Whole Ten Yards, and 17 Again, and TV series such as Ally McBeal, The West Wing, and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. In 2022, Perry released a memoir titled Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir.
