For years, Apple fans have always been notorious for their willingness to spend extra on a product that offers less than the competitors. I’m guilty of this with the iPhone and MacBook Air/Pro’s throughout the years but MY GOD will you never see me spending $52,000 on a computer that doesn’t even include a screen.
A person on Twitter pointed out that the fully-loaded Mac Pro will now cost $52,748 if you max out every upgrade available. Keep in mind this is JUST for the tower, not any expensive software or a badass screen. It’s only the computer.
What exactly do you get with the $52K+ Mac Pro? Let’s find out…
Fully loaded Mac Pro costs… $52,748. This is just maxed-out hardware. No software, no screen. pic.twitter.com/o3oXrALAPv

That’s $7,000 for the 2.5GHz 28-core Intel Xeon W processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.4GHz. And a measly $25,000 for the upgraded 1.5TB (12x128GB) of DDR4 ECC memory. Tack on another $10,800 for Two Radeon Pro Vega II Duo with 2x32GB of HBM2 memory each. And round it out with 4 terabytes of SSD storage for an additional $1,400 and you’ve jacked up the price considerably.
That isn’t an unfathomable price to add 4TB to your computer but the rest is just blowing my damn mind. I cannot fathom who in their right minds would ever pay for these upgrades in place of just building a computer from scratch.
This hurts my head:

Don’t forget the FREE Lightning cable!
Everyone joking about the price of the Mac Pro is missing one very important thing:

I’d love to speak with someone who would try and justify the $52,000+ price tag of this fully-loaded Mac Pro. I need to hear someone try and rationalize this for me because it simply defies logic that anyone would ever spend this much cash on a computer instead of building one themselves.
