George Kittle is set to make his acting debut in a Western with dinosaurs
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle has signed on to make his acting debut in an upcoming eight-part series. Not just any series, though, but one that perfectly aligns with Kittle’s whole playfully unhinged personality: Dinosaurs of the Wild West.
Conceptually and tonally, Dinosaurs of the Wild West sounds like it will fall f somewhere between Cowboys & Aliens and Sharknado, as the series features a Western frontier world in which humans and dinosaurs live side-by-side. So side-by-side, in fact, that “raptors are ridden into battle.”

“In an alternate frontier, humanity navigates a dangerous land where every journey, every town, and every war depends on the giant creatures that shaped civilization itself. Dinosaurs of the Wild West is an epic adventure series that reimagines the American frontier through a world millions of years in the making,” the YouTube description of the concept trailer reads.
“Massive Brontosaurs haul entire towns across the frontier. Raptors are ridden into battle. Pterosaurs rule the skies. For generations, humans and dinosaurs shaped the world together. Now something is coming that threatens to change that forever.”
With a role in Dinosaurs of the Wild West, George Kittle will become one of just five tight ends in NFL history to earn an acting credit, joining Travis Kelce, Tony Gonzalez, Rob Gronkowski, and Vernon Davis.
“George is someone who discovered Primitive War on his own and talked about it publicly, and that’s what brought us together. His passion for this kind of storytelling is completely authentic, and that energy is exactly what the frontier needs. Having him, the Koves and Rachael together so far is the kind of ensemble that gets built around a story worth telling,” Australian writer-director Luke Spark said.
Before he makes his acting debut, the potential future Hall of Fame tight end will head to training camp for his tenth season with the San Francisco 49ers, who will kick off their 2026 season with a road matchup against the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday, September 10 at 8:35 p.m. EST.
