The first trailer for Immaculate, the upcoming horror movie starring and produced by Sydney Sweeney, has been released.

Late last year, Neon — the studio behind acclaimed films such as I, Tonya, Parasite, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Titane, The Worst Person in the World, Spencer, Triangle of Sadness, Anatomy of a Fall, and more — acquired the distribution rights to Immaculate, which Sweeney says she’s been putting together since she was 16 years old.

Here is the official synopsis for Immaculate:

Directed by Michael Mohan, Immaculate follows Cecilia (Sweeney), a woman of devout faith who is offered a fulfilling new role at an illustrious Italian convent. Her warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside is soon interrupted as it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home harbors some dark and horrifying secrets.

Alongside Sweeney, the most notable cast member is The White Lotus season two breakout star Simona Tabasco.

“So f—— excited for you guys to see this, you have no idea. This has been my baby since I was 16 and putting it altogether, producing it and filming it earlier this year was a complete dream of mine. See you guys at the theaters,” Sweeney wrote on her Instagram Story after the film was officially acquired by Neon.

In addition to the duo of Sweeney and Tabasco, the film also stars Alvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Giorgio Colangeli, and Dora Romano.

Immaculate is just one of many films that Sweeney has due out in 2024, as she’s also set to star in Madame Web, hitting theaters in a few weeks, Echo Valley, and Eden. She also recently starred in the hit rom-com Anyone But You.

The Immaculate trailer wasn’t the only Sydney Sweeney-related piece of content to release on Thursday as she also featured in the latest season premiere of Hot Ones, which you can check out below.
