A new leading actress has burst onto the scene this month, as 25-year-old Inde Navarrette is getting Academy Award nomination shouts for her performance in the massively successful horror film Obsession. Before making it big as an actress, it appears that Navarrette was a Call of Duty ace.
Inde Navarrette, the breakout star of the horror hit Obsession, has gone viral this week after the internet unearthed clips of her live streaming herself absolutely destroying opponents in a Call of Duty: Black Ops. One video even sees that the actress playing while wearing a Toad (the famous mushroom-headed creature from Nintendo’s Mario franchise) hat on her head.

Navarrette’s breakout hit Obsession is proving to be a box office revelation, as it had the biggest second weekend increase for a wide-release film this century, as it increased 39% from its opening weekend. As of Memorial Day, the Curry Baker-directed film has officially crossed $75 million at the worldwide box office after being produced for just $750,000.
Obsession is just Navarrette’s sixth professional acting gig following the films Wander Darkly (2020) and Trap House (2025), and the TV series Denton’s Death Date, 13 Reasons Why and Superman & Lois. At this time, while the only upcoming project she’s attached to is the film Invertigo, her breakout performance in Obsession is going to make her one of the most in-demand young actresses in Hollywood, especially if she can score an Oscar nomination.
Alongside Navarrette — who was previously best known for playing Sarah Cushing on The CW series Superman & Lois from 2021 to 2024 — Obsession also stars Michael Johnston, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter. You can check out an official trailer for the film below.
