It would appear Jamie Foxx has made a full recovery after he was hospitalized due to a fairly mysterious medical emergency that unfolded last April, and we now have a bit more insight into exactly what transpired courtesy of a video where he shared some new information about the scary situation.

Last April, we learned Jamie Foxx had been rushed to the hospital due to what his daughter initially (and vaguely) described as a “medical complication.”

His family understandably wanted to respect his privacy, but the lack of detail led to plenty of unfounded speculation making the rounds online as well as harebrained conspiracy theories floated by people who were convinced he’d been replaced by a clone because that’s just the world we live in.

Mike Tyson seemingly acknowledged Foxx had been diagnosed with a stroke during a podcast appearance where he attempted to do some damage control after letting that piece of information slip, and the fact that tabloids discovered the actor was receiving treatment at a physical rehab facility specializing in brain injuries appeared to led credence to that theory.

It also seems to track with what Foxx had to say about the medical scare in a video that was recently captured while he was chatting with some people in Phoenix, Arizona, as he said he had “a bad headache” on the day of the incident and asked an acquaintance to give him an Advil right before he lost consciousness for a grand total of 20 days.

Foxx—who said he “saw the tunnel” while discussing what transpired last December— admitted he didn’t remember anything that transpired for close to three weeks but relayed some of the information he became privy to after waking up.

He declined to get into specifics while discussing the conclusion one doctor came to while working on his case, but the fact that he gestured to his head while saying the expert determined “There’s something going on up there” would obviously suggest he was dealing with some sort of brain trauma.

You wouldn’t know anything had happened to Foxx based on how he comes across in that clip, so it thankfully looks like the 56-year-old has put the worst behind him.
