Jennifer Aniston is from old-school Hollywood and doesn’t need the same kiddie gloves that today’s movie stars are treated with, according to the actress herself.

Speaking with Variety about her hit (yet apparently terrible) AppleTV+ series The Morning Show, Aniston detailed having to film an intimate scene with co-star Jon Hamm and how aghast she was at the idea of having an “intimacy coordinator” watch over them.

“I never felt uncomfortable. Jon was such a gentleman, always — I mean every move, every cut, ‘You OK?’ It was also very choreographed. That’s the beauty of [director] Mimi Leder and our gorgeous editor, the music and lighting. So, you don’t prepare,” Aniston explained.

“They asked us if we wanted an intimacy coordinator. I’m from the olden days, so I was like, ‘What does that mean?’ They said, ‘Where someone asks you if you’re OK,’ and I’m like, ‘Please, this is awkward enough!’ We’re seasoned — we can figure this one out. And we had Mimi there.” [via Variety]

In addition to veteran TV stars Aniston and Hamm, who have featured in Friends and Mad Men, respectively, The Morning Show also stars Reese Witherspoon, Bill Crudup, Steve Carell (seasons 1 and 2), Mark Duplass, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Greta Lee, Julianna Margulies, and more.

Season three of The Morning Show premiered on AppleTV+ back in September and has been renewed for a fourth season.

In addition to The Morning Show, Aniston also starred in Adam Sandler’s latest Netflix film Murder Mystery 2 earlier this year.
