These are the type of people the world needs more of — the type of people who decide to say screw what anyone thinks of me, forget my own personal gain, I’m going to do what’s right. I like to imagine that I live my life the same way, but I have a lot more to lose than John Boyega, who’s playing with that Disney money while I’m playing with mere Monopoly money.
Boyega — who most famously starred as the Strom Trooper-turned-Resistance Fighter Finn in the recent Star Wars sequel trilogy — took to Twitter following the deeply disturbing and abhorrent murder of George Floyd to deliver a truly epic and fist-pumping rant about racists that will have you ready to run through a brick wall. PREACH, JOHN! PREEEEEACCCCCH.
“This just burns. Seems to be a never ending cycle. The murderers need to be charged severely. Even in the face of death this man was given zero empathy,” Boyega wrote on Twitter prior to posting his video (he also simply tweeted “I really f*****g hate racists”, which, I gotta say — I agree with BIG time).

The more people in positions of visibility that say things like this — especially in this tone — the better. The time for niceties is over: we must demand justice, demand accountability, demand to live in a better society for all of us. I stand with George Floyd, I stand with John Boyega, and I stand will all of my fellow HUMANS who suffer through a seemingly endless stream of injustice.
