After setting franchise box-office highs with Chapter 4, it’s clearer than ever that the John Wick is one of the few in Hollywood that seemingly gets better with every passing film.

The reason that the John Wick franchise is seemingly on an exponential growth curve is due to its endlessly committed creative team, led by star Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski.

If you’ve ever heard the pair discuss the franchise — such as our recent in-depth chat with Stahelski (which you can find below) — then you can tell how obvious their love for the John Wick franchise is, which results in next-level attention to detail.

Take one of the showpiece action scenes in Chapter 4, for example, which features Wick taking on Scott Adkins’ behemoth Killa in a waterfall-filled nightclub. According to Stahelski, that scene and all of its flowing water are made to make you “want to go to the bathroom.”

“…Americans are the only ones that are uncomfortable with getting up and taking a bathroom break,” Stahelski said during an interview with DiscussingFilm.

I don’t want to get up so I have to hold it and now it’s way too long!” Like, just stand up. I got something for you, for anyone watching John Wick: Chapter 4, after the water scene in the club, I did that to make you want to go to the bathroom. That’s a good time to go to the bathroom and come back, and you would be fine.”

Alongside Keanu Reeves in the titular role, John Wick: Chapter 4 stars Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, Clancy Brown, and Ian McShane. The film is currently playing in theaters.
