‘Game Of Thrones’ Fans Have Given Jon Snow A New Name After The Revelation About His Parents

Jon Snow Daenerys Targaryen

Macall B. Polay / HBO

There are some Game of Thrones spoilers ahead if you’re not caught up, so just be aware of that. Now, moving on. The Game of Thrones Season 7 finale ended with so many wheels in motion it was hard to keep track. We had the Night King taking down the wall with his zombie dragon, Queen Daenerys Targaryen, Ruler of the Andals and First Men, succumbed to carnal pleasures and boned her nephew Jon Snow. Yes, her nephew.

Bran is not the Three-Eyed Raven and he knows who Jon Snow’s real parents are, he also knows that Jon Snow’s real name is/was meant to be Aegon Targaryen. Samwell Tarly also knows and he’s Jon Snow’s best (living) friend. Jon will soon learn the reality of his lineage. He’ll find out that he just dipped his wick inside of his Aunt Dany’s inkwell. And Jon will find out that his real name is Aegon Targaryen which presents a problem for both the characters, writers, and fans.

We’re not going to just start calling Jon Snow by his real name, Aegon Targaryen. That’s not going to happen. But, after the revelation of Jon’s parenting spreads a new name will be needed, and Josh Kurp over at UPROXX seems to have landed on the name ‘Aejon’…Pronounced ‘Ay-John’. And Josh isn’t alone in adopting the new name of Aejon, it’s already taken off over on Reddit and Twitter:

So there it is, Aejon. That’s the new name we’re all rolling with for Jon Snow after the bombshell revelations that he is a Targaryen, and the rightful heir to the Seven Kingdoms. [h/t UPROXX]
