In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few days let me catch you up real quick: Kanye West has a new album on the way and he’s been tweeting non-stop to drum up hype for that album. His efforts have been working. He picked up 8 million Twitter followers in the past 24 hours according to social media analytics website SocialBlade.

Kanye has been tweeting for days, non-stop. It’s been a bizarre stream of consciousness that ranges from philosophy to motivational quotes that would barely pass for AIM away statuses back in the day. The team at Pigeons & Planes decided to combine the best of Kanye’s tweets with cartoons from the New Yorker and these work perfectly:

I feel a little foolish here writing about Kanye West. His erratic and attention-grabbing actions on Twitter of the past few days were clearly designed to drum up press and I’m falling for it hook, line, and sinker. He could very well be having a mental breakdown at the moment like the one he had several years ago, or every aspect of this could be calculated to drum up as much coverage as possible. I feel like it’s the latter, and hope it isn’t the former.
