Woman Picks Up Little Caesars. Then She Opens The Box At Home And Sees What’s Crawling Inside

It’s the kind of thing that ruins dinner and makes you want to cry with rage. Bugs crawling around the inside of your pizza box. What’s worse is the bugs are cockroaches. Now, not only is the meal inedible, there’s the added task of hunting and killing all of the insects.

A woman in Union City, Georgia, recently unpacked more than she’d ordered when she went to grab a slice of Little Caesars pizza. The TikTok posted by @trendingrfn has been watched over 1.5 million times.

The video doesn’t have a lot of context. But with roaches scurrying through the box, there is just enough information to get the internet up in arms. The video opens with a closeup of the Little Caesars Spider-Man box. But there is very little mystery about what happens next. The TikToker has added on-screen text so the message is clear: “Do not order from Little Caesar’s in Union City. They have roaches in there [sic] pizza.”

Then she opens the pizza box and three roaches scurry over the pepperoni and through the box. In the background, a woman shouts, “I’m suing. I’m suing. We don’t have roaches.”

‘Real Calm’

The internet immediately launched an investigation based on nothing but vibes and observations. Hint: No one is mad at Little Caesars.

The top comment pulls no punches. It simply reads, “Them yo roaches sis.” And everyone in the comments section piled on, offering “evidence.”

“Ngl I don’t know because you was real calm about them running into your house…” another said.

A third speculated the roaches came “either from your house or your car.”

Others were worried about the TikToker’s home now because if she didn’t have roaches before, she definitely does now.

How Quickly Can Roaches Infest A Home?

Beyond a ruined meal, the bigger concern would be about an infested house. Bad news: The old saying about roaches surviving a thermonuclear bomb seems true.

According to multiple pest control sites, the war against roaches is one that we’re all waging, whether we know it or not. The stigma says, “Only dirty people get roaches.” But ActionPest says this is not true: “The truth is, anyone can get cockroaches.”

But can three roaches who hitchhiked in become a huge problem?

Yes.

The site Cockroach Care explains that “Hidden females and frequent [egg] production can turn a few roaches into thousands within 4–6 months.”

Cockroaches pose a particular problem not just because bugs inside are icky, but because they carry diseases. Their feces can trigger asthma attacks, and even after they’re dead, the diseases they carry can still be transmitted. The pathogens they can carry include dysentery, cholera, and salmonellosis. They love the glue that keeps cardboard boxes together. Stacked pizza boxes in a corner make a perfect home. And they “complete their lifecycle in 8-12 weeks and females can produce up to 400 offspring per female over her lifetime,” reports the above-mentioned site.

So what to do if you notice the most unwelcome houseguest of all? Document, destroy, and disinfect. And don’t eat the food. After taking pictures and pitching the food (outside of your home), clean up using antibacterial cleaners. Then, call the restaurant and let them know what happened. Not because you’ll want another pizza, but because the restaurant needs to know.

Story Time And Update

In a follow-up video, Trending RFN addresses the people who said her car or home were the source of the problems. She’s spliced together the copy of the delivery receipt. In it, there’s a photo of the purported pizza delivery box sitting on the front porch of a home. Then, she cuts in another video where an unidentified insect seems to have been cooked onto the crust of a pizza.

The last edit is a woman who uses her TikTok to “expose” Little Caesars. In that clip, the Little Caesars employee is seen sitting on a pile of pizza boxes and filming a dead roach on a countertop. It is not confidence-inspiring.

In the voice-over to this video, the TikToker offers a wish to the folks who think she’s the problem. She says, “To all in the comment talking s—: I hope you eat a roach and have explosive diarrhea.” Fair point to her, as eating a roach could actually cause acute gastroenteritis.
