A LongHorn Steakhouse customer compared two Spicy Chicken Bites orders months apart

Shrinkflation claims surrounding LongHorn Steakhouse are nothing new.

By now, several TikTok videos of customers filming what they believe are smaller LongHorn Steakhouse portions have gone viral.

Some popular examples include one customer who said he received a small portion of chicken in his chicken salad, another who filmed a tiny steak that was supposed to be 6 ounces, and one who claimed LongHorn had reduced the kids’ sirloin from 6 ounces to 4 ounces.

Now, a TikTok user says another LongHorn Steakhouse menu item may have been affected: its Spicy Chicken Bites. And she has receipts.

LongHorn Customer Flags Spicy Chicken Bites As Shrinkflation

@x.digidiary shared two photos of what she had allegedly received on two separate occasions. One was taken recently, while the other was from April of this year.

“Same order, be so serious,” she wrote in the caption, tagging LongHorn Steakhouse.

The first photo, which she says was taken that day, shows a plate with around 10 chicken bites and the accompanying sauces on the side.

The second shows a much fuller table, with stuffed mushrooms, a crouton salad, bread, and the Spicy Chicken Bites. The serving of chicken bites looks bigger, with around 15 pieces on the plate.

“April 2026… full portion,” she wrote on-screen. The post was viewed over 134,300 times.

Did The Portion Get Smaller?

LongHorn’s current official nutrition PDF lists the regular Spicy Chicken Bites at 740 calories, with 39 grams of fat, 53 grams of carbohydrates, 43 grams of protein, and 1,420 milligrams of sodium. An official 2021-22 menu also lists the Spicy Chicken Bites at 740 calories. Its 2023 Nutrition & Allergen Guide gives the same 740-calorie total and macros.

However, restaurant portion sizes aren’t an exact science. Chains use standardized recipes and portion controls to keep servings consistent, but customers can expect some variation from plate to plate.

Customers Share Possible Theories

Some commenters were appalled by how different the two portions looked side by side.

“I would’ve showed them that pic cause ain’t no way,” one commenter wrote.

Another offered a possible explanation.

“The spicy chicken bites portions are actually measured by weight rather than number of bites when they are prepped,” they wrote. “If you look at the April portion, there are tons of smaller pieces, filling up the boat more. The one from now has much larger/taller pieces, so it doesn’t fill up as much of the space length wise.”

“Ok I just had one last week. It’s your location girl,” another said.

“As a darden employee i’ve been trying to figure this out too man,” a fourth added.
