February 26, 2015 was arguably the single most fun day on the Internet for two reasons. First, it was the day of ‘The Dress’ where everyone was arguing Blue and Black vs White and Gold. It was also the same day that two llamas got loose in Arizona and led police on a llama chase throughout the city.

While we didn’t quite reach those levels of entertainment on Thursday morning, a bull entertain millions after it got loose on the NJT tracks and led NJ police on a train track chase in Newark. The news team at ABC7NY scrambled the chopper and filmed the loose bull chase in NJ from the air.

New Jersey Transit fired off a tweet saying delays up to 45 minutes were expected due to the runaway Jersey bull. Which, to be fair, is about the same delay expected 50% of the time on NJT these days:

And here is the bull making its way along the tracks:

According to officials in Newark, the loose bull was tranquilized and safely removed from the tracks before being moved to an animal sanctuary where it will be held in safety. They didn’t, however, explain where the bull came from.

Passengers on NJT were as confused as anyone. One passenger told ABC7NY “I looked out the window and it was there, it was just kind of trotting down the track there.” Passenger Jason Monticelli added “I thought maybe it was a Red Bulls PR stunt or something like that, considering the stadium was right there. But yeah, he was just trotting along. We were just trying to figure out what where it came from.”

I, for one, am glad we live in a world where helicopters are still getting scrambled to film animals on the loose. I sure hope we don’t reach a point where we start using drones instead…

For those that don’t remember the llama chase, you’re welcome:

Best animal chase ever? It might be.
