Margot Robbie Shares First Look At Harley Quinn, Huntress, Black Canary In Teaser For ‘Birds Of Prey’

So, have Aquaman and Wonder Woman made you forget about the debacles that were Batman V Superman, Suicide Squad and Justice League? Based on the fact that Aquaman just surpassed The Dark Knight Rises as the highest grossing DC Comics movie of all time ($1.09 billion), they may have.

Of course, most people thought that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad got a pass, because she was hands-down the best part of an otherwise mediocre movie. (Which is why, at one point, she had FOUR films in various stages of development for the character.)

Which is why Robbie is the only one from that cast getting a second shot (at least for now), as she just announced production on her “R-Rated Girl Gang Film” (her words) Birds of Prey.

We know this because she just shared a behind-the-scenes photo, giving us our first look at Robbie reprising the role of Harley Quinn.

“Miss me? 💋HQ,” Robbie wrote.

Yes. Yes, we did, Margot.

Then, as if that wasn’t enough to get us excited, she also dropped a quick teaser for Birds of Prey that gives us our first brief introduction to some of the other characters in the film including Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), and others.

Birds of Prey also stars Rosie Perez, Ella Jay Basco, and Ewan McGregor. Cathy Yan (Dead Pigs) will direct the script written by Christina Hodson (Bumblebee).

There’s no actual synopsis yet, but Flickering Myth says the movie “will see Harley moving on from her abusive relationship with The Joker as she teams with The Huntress, Black Canary and Detective Renee Montoya to help protect young Cassandra Cain from the mob boss Black Mask.”

Still doesn’t have anything to do with the Birds of Prey of the comics, but hey, more Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn? We’re in.

Birds of Prey is scheduled to hit theaters on February 7, 2020.
