Facebook co-founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has never been a ‘watch guy’ or had interest in high-end luxury watches… until now. While in Jamnagar in the Indian state of Gujarat for the ‘Wedding of the Century’ between Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, Zuckerberg was blown away by Anant Ambani’s Richard Mille Watch.

Anant Ambani is the son of Mukesh Ambani, the wealthiest man in all of Asia, and has business ties to Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and other billionaires who were in attendance at the wedding.

Anant is also quite the watch connoisseur with a collection that includes a Richard Mille RMS-10 Tourbillon Koi Fish ($1M), Richard Mille RM 056 Tourbillon Split Seconds Chronograph ($1.7M), Richard Mille RM27-02 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal ($1.3M), and countless other rare watches.

What does any of that have to do with Mark Zuckerberg? Well, video has emerged showing the Meta CEO and his wife Dr. Priscilla Chan being wowed by Anant Ambani’s Richard Mille watch and Mark can be seen saying “You know, I never really wanted to get a watch. But after seeing that, I was like, watches are cool.” Mark’s wife can also be heard saying “I want that.”

Mark Zuckerberg Wowed By Anant Ambani’s Richard Mille Watch…What’s Next

It is surprising that Mark Zuckerberg with is engineering/coding background has never been drawn toward watches as the engineering parallels often attract the type of person who loves to know how things work and has a deep appreciation for the steps and work involved in building something magnificent.

And the fact of the matter here is Mark Zuckerberg can own any watch on earth that he wants. Every single master watchmaker, Richard Mille included, would leap at the chance to have their watch on Mark Zuckerberg’s wrist.

What will be fascinating to see is if Mark (1) follows through with becoming a watch guy after seeing Anant Ambani’s Richard Mille and (2) stops at one watch or goes all-in like most watch aficionados do.

My hunch would be the latter but Mark Zuckerberg maintains such a subdued personal style he will need to find the right fits for his fashion sense AND for his active lifestyle. Taking the latter into account, a Richard Mille timepiece might be exactly what Zuckerberg needs even if he doesn’t know it yet. This fit would go hard with a watch though:

One thing about Mark Zuckerberg though is if something sparks an interest in him he goes all in. Look no further than Mark’s Meats, his macadamia nut-fed wagyu beef being raised on his Hawaiian ranch that drink beer brewed on the property in a vertically integrated project. Depending on how this watch fascinating goes, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Mark co-design one of the world’s coolest watches in the future.
