You can add acting to the list of things that Marshawn Lynch is accomplished at, as the former NFL running back and current entrepreneur has received a nomination in the field.

On Tuesday, December 5, it was announced that Lynch has been nominated for Best Breakthrough Performance at the Film Independent Spirit Awards for his work as Mr. G in the hit comedy Bottoms, which hit theaters back in August.

While Bottoms wasn’t the first time that Lynch had appeared on camera — he previously appeared in projects such as 80 for Brady, Murderville, Westworld, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and The League — it was the first time that he played a character other than himself in a feature film.

Acting is just one of the many activities that the former Pro Bowler has gotten into since retiring from the NFL as the 37-year-old has also invested in professional sports teams such as the Beasts of the Fan Controlled Football league, the Bay Area Panthers of the Indoor Football League, the Oakland Roots of the United Soccer League, and the Seattle Kraken of the NHL.

He also recently launched his own cannabis line, invested in the holoportation startup PORTL, and has his own charity, the Fam 1st Family Foundation.

In addition to Lynch, Bottoms — which was directed by 28-year-old Shiva Baby filmmaker Emma Seligman — stars Ayo Edebiri, Ruby Cruz, Havana Rose Liu, Kaia Gerber, Nicholas Galitzine, Miles Fowler, and Dagmara Domińczyk.
