According to David Grann, the author of the book Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese’s next project is going to be an adaptation of his new book The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder.

The AppleTV+ film, which was originally announced in 2022 and will star Leonardo DiCaprio, tells the story of the HMS Wager and the mutiny that took place on board.

In 1741, a British crew survives a shipwreck and washes ashore on the coast of Chile. Six months later, however, another crew of just three survivors on even more decrepit ship surfaces and claims they were actually mutineers.

Grann’s official website says that The Wager is “a mesmerizing story of shipwreck, survival, and savagery, culminating in a court martial that reveals a shocking truth.”

As for Killers of the Flower Moon, Scorsese’s latest collaboration with Leonardo DiCaprio will be hitting theaters on October 6. In addition to the Academy Award-winning DiCaprio, the film also stars Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, and Brendan Fraser.

Killers of the Flower Moon tells the story of the mysterious mass murders of the oil-wealthy Osage nation Native Americans back in 1920s Oklahoma.

Here is the official synopsis for Killers of the Flower Moon, via Apple:

At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder. Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), Killers of the Flower Moon is an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal.
