The Trailer For Marvel’s ‘Eternals’ Has Finally Arrived

Marvel Studios

The first trailer for Marvel Studios’ Eternals, directed by Academy Award winner Chloe Zhao, is here.

Originally set to be released last Fall, Eternals — like the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe — was delayed due to the global pandemic. However, as a result of that delay, the film’s director Chloe Zhao is now an Academy Award winner, as the 38-year-old Chinese filmmaker took home Oscars for Best Director and Best Picture earlier this year for her work on Nomadland.

Expectations for Eternals couldn’t possibly be any higher, as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously said that the film is based on the “best pitch he’s ever heard”.

“Not only does Chloe make remarkable, small, personal movies in a remarkable, small, personal way, but she thinks in grand, cosmic, gigantic terms, which fit perfectly with what we wanted to do,” Feige said. “Eternals is a very big, sweeping, multimillennial-spanning story. And she just got it.”

All jokes aside, and all of the Chloe Zhao-ness aside, I’m fully expecting Eternals to crack my Top 3 favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe movies of all-time, as the film appears to be telling a story of a cosmic romance across thousands of years and lifetimes and I’m an absolute SUCKER for that shit. Plus, it helps when the romance is focused on the stunning Gemma Chan and Richard Madden.

Eternals — which stars Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Kit Harington, Gemma Chan, and more — is currently scheduled to hit theaters on Friday, November 5.

Eternals is just one of many Marvel Cinematic Universe films due out in 2021, as Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Spider-Man: No Way Home are also set to be released this year.
