The best Halloween costume of the year goes to Matt Damon. Or, rather, a guy dressed as the Matt Damon puppet from Team America: World Police as Odysseus from Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
The costume, which was created by prop maker Freddy Schramm — @FreddyProps on Instagram — features an enormous animatronic head modeled after the puppet version of Matt Damon in the 2004 Trey Parker and Matt Stone comedy Team America: World Police, complete with the armor and helmet worn by his character Odysseus in Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan’s 2026 epic.

Schramm, who shared videos of the creation process on social media, used 3D printing and foam casting to construct the oversized puppet head, which he says stands about two feet tall. The costume also features moving eyes and a mechanical jaw.
Team America: World Police is a 2004 satirical comedy from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone that features marionette versions of various Hollywood celebrities, including Damon, who was particularly lambasted in the film. Damon’s puppet became one of the film’s most memorable running jokes, as the character is portrayed as an imbecile capable of saying little more than his own name.
More than two decades later, Schramm has brought the joke back to life by dressing the puppet as Odysseus, the legendary Greek hero that Damon portrays in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
Given that The Odyssey was one of the biggest movies of 2026 and that Damon’s Team America puppet has remained a meme for over 20 years, the costume is a pretty perfect combination of old and new pop culture references.
