Over the past couple of years, musical biopics have been all the rage, with 2019’s Rocket Man chronicling the life and times of Elton John and 2018 Best Picture nominee Bohemian Rhapsody documenting the rise and fall of Queen.

As a result, it’s only natural that Michael Jackson would eventually get the same treatment and we recently learned the producer of Bohemian Rhapsody had secured Jackson’s life rights to make a movie about the pop star’s wild journey through life.

However, it appears that’s not the only Michael Jackson project in the works, and based on a report from The Hollywood Reporter, there’s an upcoming musical that looks like it’s going to be one hell of a ride.

It’s impossible to talk about the life of the musician without mentioning the multiple molestation allegations that were levied against him, which were the focus of the HBO docuseries Leaving Neverland that aired earlier this year and resulted in his family estate filing a lawsuit against the network.

Now, Los Angeles-based playwright Julien Nitzberg has decided to address those accusations in a very unique play that will reportedly focus on a bedazzled glove from outer space that grants the wearer with unparalleled musical acumen—assuming they continue to supply it with the blood of virgin boys.

Yes. You read that right.

Nitzberg says the project—which has been dubbed For the Love of a Glove—is 17 years in the making and that he came up with the concept of an alien glove that feasts on little boys after a television network approached him about writing a biopic but refused to let him address the whole “molesting” thing.

The musical—which will also feature puppets because why the hell not?—will contain 20 original songs and is slated to debut in January.

If you’re looking for a more traditional Michael Jackson musical, there’s a Broadway show set to premiere in July but it doesn’t sound nearly as fun as this one.
