Country music superstar Morgan Wallen is preparing to spend some time behind bars according to a new report that claims he expects to be sentenced to jail time for launching a chair off the roof of a Nashville bar.

Life and Style reports that reports that Wallen’s lawyers attempted to negotiate a plea deal that would have kept him out of jail. But those attempts seem to have fallen on deaf ears.

“Morgan’s lawyers have tried to strike a deal where he’d receive probation,” a source told the site.“But it’s looking bleak at this point. He’s likely to spend time behind bars.”

Wallen faces three counts of felony reckless endangerment. And he could well spent up to six years in prison if convicted. But it sounds as if a shorter sentence is far more likely.

“Morgan is being told the best scenario is a 30-to-60-day sentence,” the same source told Life and Style. “I don’t think the prosecutors want him to skate away with no time because people will think it’s because of his celebrity status.”

But even if Wallen avoids a lengthy stay, any conviction could hinder his career. Not only would he miss time on the road, but he could also have issues with touring internationally.

“If Morgan has a felony conviction, it’s going to make it hard for him to get work visas to tour internationally,” the source states.

Wallen’s career is a laundry list of bad decision-making. While immensely talented, he’s faced backlash over several questionable incidents. Those include the chair-throwing, hurling racial slurs, and canceling several shows.

But those within the industry are giving him a pass. Darius Rucker said Wallen should be forgiven for the racial slur incident (which occurred in 2021). And Jelly Roll, who filled in for one of his canceled tour dates, says the singer should be shown grace.

Either way, it appears that Wallen is intent on making life tough on himself. And he may finally face some consequences for his actions.
