Morgan Wallen has managed to make headlines for all of the wrong reasons on multiple occasions since emerging as a country music star, and he’s landed in that situation once again thanks to what allegedly unfolded at a rooftop bar in Nashville over the weekend.

It’s been a decade since Morgan Wallen got his first taste of fame when he appeared on The Voice, which marked the start of an upward trajectory that would eventually transform into a meteoric rise to stardom.

He found himself with a hit on his hands after “Whiskey Glasses” took the country music world by storm in 2018 and ascended to Superstar status after 2020’s Dangerous spawned a string of tunes that catapulted toward the top of the charts.

However, I don’t think it’s a stretch to suggest Wallen wasn’t prepared for the scrutiny that accompanied his newfound fame. In 2020, he was arrested after causing a scene outside Kid Rock’s bar in Nashville, and the following year, he found himself enduring a hurricane of controversy stemming from a video where he was filmed yelling a racial slur.

Wallen did a 30-day stint in rehab following that second incident and asserted he’d addressed what seemed to be a rocky relationship with alcohol during an interview in 2023, but it’s a bit hard to wonder if that’s actually the case based on what allegedly transpired on Sunday night.

According to WTVF, Wallen was arrested and charged with three counts of reckless endangerment (in addition to a single count of disorderly conduct) after police officers who were standing outside of Chief’s Bar—the establishment Eric Church recently opened in Nashville—were almost struck by the chair he allegedly threw off of the roof before it landed on the ground six stories below.

Wallen—who was identified as the suspect after the cops reviewed security footage—was freed after posting the $15,250 bond that was imposed after he posed for a mugshot where he busted out a smile.

Wallen is currently scheduled to appear in court to answer for the matter on May 3rd—the same day he’s set to wrap up a two-show run at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium.
